Product information

Plagron Batmix is a mix of the finest, carefully selected types of peat. It contains various types of fibre and perlite which results in a lightness and oxygen level you have come to expect only of Plagron quality substrates. The abundant presence of unique Plagron worm castings ensures vigorous plant growth and increased water retention. The main nutrient in Batmix is bat manure (Bat Guano). Bat manure is naturally rich in phosphorus and potassium, guaranteeing abundant flowering. Only under closely controlled conditions can Bat Guano be processed into the top quality product Batmix. Batmix produces the highest yields when used with Plagron Alga Grow, Alga Bloom and the additives from Plagron.

Usage

Plagron Batmix is a ready to use soilless growing medium for potting and re-potting all flowering plants. Rinse with water before use in order to wash out the immediately absorbable nutrients. Extra nutrition is needed after approximately 6 weeks, depending on the condition of the plant.

Batmix is fertilised for about six weeks. When you need to start giving nutrients depends on conditions such as the amount of light per square meter, the type of plant and other factors. It takes about two weeks for organic nutrients to become available to the plant. If you start fertilising from the fourth week, the nutrients will be available in week six, right at the point were the pre-fertilisation of the Batmix runs out. Check the grow schedule to find out if you need Alga Grow or Alga Bloom and in what dosage.

No, combined with our 100% NATURAL Grow Style you don't have to regulate the pH and EC value.

Batmix is maximally fertilised. For young plants that are not yet accustomed to high EC-values, it may be difficult when they are suddenly planted into a maximum fertilised soil. Therefore we recommend to flush the Batmix before putting the plant into the Batmix. This is done by filling the pot (eg 10 liters) with Batmix and  rinsing it with 5 to 10 liters of water. After this, the plant can be planted directly. The fertilisers that are absorbed directly will be flushed out with the water. Within the following days, the EC value in Batmix will rise again and gradually the non absorbable fertilisers will be released.

Yes, we advise you to mix Batmix with full ground when your soil outside is very clayey. If your soil is very airy we would recommend you use Bat Guano.

Yes, you can use Supermix to upgrade your peat substrates. Unused, these substrates are prefertilised. This means you don't need to use Supermix for your first grow on any of these substrates.

Batmix contains sufficient organic nutrients for the first six weeks of your cultivation. Because Batmix is extremely rich in nutrients, it is not suitable for very young plants. You should therefore wait one to two weeks before putting your plant in Batmix, or flush the Batmix before use. After this, you can start growing immediately without worrying about whether your plant is getting enough of the right nutrients. We advise to start fertilising from week 4, because it takes about two weeks for organic nutrients to be absorbed by the plant.

Bat guano is one of the organic nutrients added to Batmix. Bat guano is known for its positive effects on flowering, making it extremely suitable for plants with a focus on fruit development.

Because Batmix is fully organic and contains a balanced amount of potassium, it improves the smell and taste of the final product.

Batmix is organic and certified by Control Union. This means that this base nutrient is suitable for organic cultivation and is good for people, animals and the environment. Batmix contains a rich soil life because of the added worm humus, and organic fertilisers which support this soil life. This means your plant grows and flowers in a natural way. This benefits the taste of the final product.
